Got an invite to attend a meeting with Mohamed Morsy the
presidential candidate of the Freedom and Justice party(Muslim Brotherhood). I
have to say I find this most inclusive of them that they invite foreigners to
the meetings at all and seem very interested in what they have to say. When I
indicated that I wanted to ask a question the microphone was thrust under my
nose with almost indecent haste. I asked about safety and security for
foreigners, I got most of his response on the video and basically he said that
this was an important issue for both natives and foreigners and they intend to
restore safety. He also said foreigners were welcome in Egypt even if they
wanted to spend the rest of their lives here. Which was nice to hear being that
is my plan but also reassuring for anyone else planning to buy here.
Before the meeting started Dr Dardury talked about a policy
of Revolution, Reform and Renaissance, he said “we have had the Revolution and
now we need to move on” I got him on camera saying this in English
I did get a long video of the initial speech but it is all
in Arabic and over 24 minutes which should take me hours and hours to load, so sorry
