Luxor governor looking at French offer to establish a cable car through the west bank of Luxor:

The article is in Arabic, this is a partial translation by Goggle.
Luxor governor looking at French offer to establish a cable car through the west bank of Luxor:  Saad, Governor of Luxor to receive French for a project (cable) to connect the tourist areas archaeological eastern mainland western mainland, through the Nile River to cross over the temples of Karnak and the tombs and temples of the Valley of the Kings and Queens of the western mainland

My first thought is that I like the idea, a number of tourists who come to Luxor don't go to the sites and this would be a good way of interesting them in what there is on offer. Building it would create employment. But of course I am concerned about the impact on the west bank. Hope we get a chance to see the plans and comment.

I think this would be a huge mistake - another blot on an unforgettable landscape, apart from the hazard it would pose to balloons taking off and landing. As if Luxor has not been ruined enough they come up with another hare-brained scheme to compound the errors. I've been travelling toLuxor since 1995 but I'm not sure I can take much more of these cack-handed attempts to modernise what used to be a lovely rustic town.....

Just when you thought they couldn't do anything more to ruin an unforgettable landscape someone comes up with another hare-brained scheme in the name of modernisation. I've been travelling to Luxor since 1995 and don't know how much more of these rubbish plans I can bear. Luxor used to be a wonderful old rustic town. History apart that was one of the endearing features.
This latest idea would be a blot on the landscape - and what about the hazard it would pose for balloons landing and taking off? A recipe for disaster.....

Just when you thought they couldn't come up with anything else someone dreams up yet another hare-brained scheme in the name of modernisation. This would be a blot on an unforgettable landscape regardless of the hazard it would pose to balloons landing or taking off. I,ve been traveling to Luxor since 1995 but don't know how much more modernisation I can bear. It used to be a wonderfully rustic old town. Apart from the history that was one of the appeals.
Nip this one in the bud please!
