Luxor African Film Festival 16-24 March

    3rd edition of the Luxor African Film Festival (LAFF) on time
    From 16 to 24 March, 2014
    The management of Luxor African Film Festival (LAFF) confirmed that the 3rd edition of the festival will take place on time (16-24 March 2014) as per the coordination of LAFF with other African festivals around the world including FESPACO in Burkina Faso, Carthage in Tunisia, Khouribga in Morocco as well as the African Festival in Milan…
    Screenwriter Sayed Fouad, LAFF president, have finalized the names of the viewing committee that will include: screenwriter Attia Dardiri as its head, with the membership of director Ahmed Rashwan , writer Wessam Soliman, film critic Farouk Abdul Khalek, director Saad Hendawy, and director Mahmoud Soleiman .
    LAFF director, filmmaker Azza El- Husseiny, has also announced the names of the Board of Trustees of the third edition. They will be headed former Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Essam Sharaf, the membership of former Minister of Culture Dr. Emad Abu Ghazi, Ambassador Dr. Ezzat Saad, actress Yussra, director Khaled Youssef , actor Khaled Saleh, actor Fathy Abdel-Wahab, film critic Samir Farid, film producer Dr. Mohamed El-Adl, Head of the film syndicate Mossad Fouda, and head of the National Film Center Kamal Abdel-Aziz .
    The Board of Trustees has developed and discussed strategies and necessary budget for the third edition of LAFF including the amount of support needed from the Ministries of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the new Governor of Luxor Tarek Saad-Eddin .
    El- Husseiny will serve as jury member in Malmo Arab Film Festival that takes place in Sweden from 2 to 9 September 2013. Screenwriter Sayed Fouad will participate at Malmo seminar revolving around films of the Arab Spring. LAFF management will also take the opportunity of being in Sweden to clarify the facts about the revolution of June 30 and the history of violence of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt in order to alternate the images spread by the Western media in both Europe and especially in the Kingdom of Sweden about the recent happenings in Egypt.
