Animal Boarding for Pets and Rescue Animals
What an excellent idea and it is my neighbour too. Luxor needed boarding kennels. The website is very sparse (underconstruction)

Animal Boarding centre for pets and rescue animals - Luxor West Bank
Description
Eachof the animals gets flea, tick and worming treatment, and are given a
flea/tick collar to protect them in the future. When we think they are
at least 8 weeks old, they are inoculated against Parvo and Rabies.
We would love to keep all of the animals, but there are so many that
need help. Therefore, we would like to rehome some of the puppies, dogs
and kittens, but only to people who really care for animals and who will provide a good home for them.
If you are interested in coming to see the animals just email us on animalrooms@mail.com or ring Ali on 010 9832 7210.
We would love to see you, especially if you could give one of them a
good home. If you can’t give an animal a home, we would still like you
to come, especially if you can donate some dog/cat food or treats!
If you already have your favoured pet with you in Luxor, but need to
take a trip, then come and talk to us about us looking after your pet
while you are away. We will provide a safe and comfortable environment
for your pets, and the boarding fees will help the abandoned animals
here.

Pyramids in Luxor
Are the pyramids in Luxor?
Well yes and no. The Giza pyramids are not in Luxor and to visit them will require a 50 minute flight to Cairo but if you look carefully you can find Luxor's pyramids.
There is no evidence what kind of superstructure Mentuhotep built on top of his temple at Deir el Bahri.
However depending on which reconstruction you believe in there might have been a pyramid on top of the temple.

At Deir el Medina the workmans village they built pyramids on top of their tombs.
At Dra Abu Naga above the tombs of Roy and Shu Roy the 17th Dynasty kings built mud brick pyramids and their pyramidions have been discovered by Daniel Poltz. website http://www.dainst.org/ar/node/24162?ft=all If you look to the right and slightly up you can see the straight lines of the mud brick on the hillside.
At Gurnayou can clearly see a large pyramid on the hill from the ramaside period

A new tomb from those lovely people at Osirisnet

This represents a small irregular chapel whose decoration is
well-preserved although it is incomplete. Ameneminet was a priest in the
service of the god Ptah-Sokar in the Temple of Millions of Years of Amenhotep
III. There are a few very rare scenes, such as the transportation of the mummy
to the burial chamber.

Egypt travel advice - GOV.UK Visa now $25 USD
My advice to buy the visa yourself at the airport, do not get it from a travel rep as they often over charge. Queue up at the bank, if you have dollars hand over the exact amount. If you are paying in another currency like sterling or Euros make sure you are charged the exact equivalent, find out what $25 is before hand.
Egypt travel advice - GOV.UK: For visits of up to 30 days, you can get a visa on arrival by payment in Sterling, US Dollars or Euros. From 1 May 2014 the visa fee will be US$25. Alternatively you can get a visa from an Egyptian Consulate outside Egypt before you travel.
