Fantastic news for all you Egyptology addicts, especially the poor ones!
From Mummies to Microchips
Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th July, 2015
To mark the 10th anniversary of the online Certificate in
Egyptology, we are organising a two-day event at The University of Manchester.
Our speakers have all been associated with Egyptology Online, either as lecturers
or examiners (or, in some cases, both); they have been invited to speak on
subjects that interest them. They include Professor Rosalie David, Dr Steven
Snape, Dr Roland Enmarch and Dr Ashley Cooke. The two-day event will end with a
buffet reception, which should be great fun.
The event is open to anyone with an interest in Egyptology – you
don’t have to have been on one of our courses. For details of fees and
speakers, and to book this event, please click here:
Blue: a free symposium exploring aspects of life in ancient Egypt
As I know that many of you are unable to visit Manchester, I have
organised a free Symposium as the on-line equivalent of our regular February
study day. I am very grateful to the Egyptologists who made this possible.
Please click on the link, register, and enjoy “Blue”. This symposium will be permanently on-line. I
hope to add more speakers soon and, fingers crossed, may be able to add a new
colour for discussion next year:
A History of Egypt in Six Objects
Egyptology Online will be delivering a free course (MOOC) later
this year, based on the collections of the Manchester Museum: click here for
more details and to register your interest:
Certificate Course in Egyptology
We are now recruiting students for our Certificate and Diploma in
Egyptology courses. Please, if you know anyone who would be interested in
applying, pass the details on to them:
