Probably as official as we are going to get, it is going up to $60 but not until July
Egypt delays fee hike for tourist entry visas to July - Politics - Egypt - Ahram Online: Egypt is postponing a fee hike in tourist entry visas - a decision announced last week - until July, the country’s tourism ministry said on Saturday.
In statements to state news agency MENA, the ministry said the new fee -- which will increase from $25 to $60 -- will be implemented starting 1 July 2017, instead of a planned 1 March date.
The ministry did not provide a reason for the delay, however, sources in the tourism sector told Al-Ahram Arabic news website that the decision to postpone came after the foreign ministry stepped in to deal with complaints from the tourism sector to the cabinet saying the fee hike was too abrupt.

Egyptian Entry Visa Price Rise
Egyptian Entry Visa Price Rise
I am really sorry to be unable to give final and definitive confirmation and if anyone finds any I would appreciate am email with the link.
Over the last few days various reports have circulated on social media about increases in both the long term and tourist visa. So changes are definitely happening. What they are and when is the big doubt.
First a price rise to $60 USD on 1st March was reported. Then a delay to 1st July was reported.
That is all I can say, it is rumour, news reports and unconfirmed by any government website. So be prepared. I would bring USD with you in small denominations so you can pay what ever is on the stamp they put in your passport. I would do this whatever your own currency is Euros, Sterling, etc as at least you will be sure you have paid exactly what is due.

New Exhibition at Luxor Museum plus disabled access
Tonight was the official opening on the new exhibition at Luxor Mseum from the 'The Colossi of Memnon and Amenhotep III Temple Conservation Project’, led by Hourig Sourouzian. There was one part that was actually outside in the floodlit area and the rest was in the special temporary area.
This is a very special project, the largest temple in Luxor, where everyone thought there was nothing but 2 large colossus has been revealed by Dr Hourig to have much much more than anyone thought. It is a huge project, employing one of the biggest teams of local workers ever assembled. On the west bank there are lots of story boards explaining their work, the Northern colossus have recently been reassembled and now this temporary exhibition reveals even more.
I went there on my trusty mobility scooter to try out the disabled facilities. My taxi was able to stop at the south end of the pedestrian area and I trundled along quite happily. The entrance to the museum had a ramp from road to pavement. The people at the ticket office let me in the exit as I couldn't go through the turnstile, they were quite happy to do that. The grounds were easy to negotiate. There was a step into the museum but I suspect this will have a ramp very soon because the museum director was there because of opening she saw and discussed the problem with me and she seemed committed to resolve it.In the meanwhile helpful staff lifted the scooter into the building. I skipped the turnstiles, going in the exit. Inside slightly to the left there was a nice gentle ramp to the upper levels and by using it and going down the other ramp you could avoid the set of steps in the entrance. There was a wheelchair lift inside, between the two sections of the museum but it was not suitable for the scooter but yet again willing men leapt forward to assist me. The only area with only steps was the small area of court du cachette area but everything else was super accessible either by ramps or willing men.

Necropolis finds in Luxor - Ahram Weekly
Necropolis finds in Luxor - Ahram Weekly: Jiro Kondo, head of the Japanese mission, described the discovery as “important” because it raises hopes that more tombs could be discovered in the Al-Khokha necropolis on the west bank of the Nile at Luxor.
It had earlier been thought that no more tombs would be found as innumerable tombs have already been discovered in the area over the past 200 years.

Tomb of Ramesside-era royal scribe uncovered in Luxor - Ancient Egypt - Heritage - Ahram Online
Tomb of Ramesside-era royal scribe uncovered in Luxor - Ancient Egypt - Heritage - Ahram Online: A Japanese mission from Waseda University discovered a private tomb in the Theban necropolis in Luxor, Mahmoud Afifi, the head of the antiquities ministry's Ancient Egypt Department, said on Tuesday.
Afifi says that the tomb, located at the El-Khokha area on the west bank of the Nile, is beautifully decorated and likely dates to the Ramesside period, based on its style. Early inspection of the tomb suggests that it belonged to a royal scribe named Khonsu .
