Birds at Medinet Habu

My photo of the problem at the Ramesseum prompted one of my readers to send this photo of Medinet Habu. You can see underneath the erosion caused by the droppings. I do hope someone is paying attention to this and some kind of solution is being worked on.

Let Horus take care of it. Many airports will hire a Falconer to fly falcons or hawks in the areas where flocking birds are a problem. The presence of a bird of prey in the area will usually keep birds like pigeons or gulls away. Here in Canada many cottage owners will put a lifesize plastic owl on their docks to keep geese and ducks from "fouling" the shoreline area. It's worth a try to keep the ancient monuments preserved and clean.
