The bookstall at Deir el Medina

Every time I go to Deir el Medina I have a root around the book stall there. It is the best source of books in Luxor and usually the best price as well. Its collection of French publications is seconded to none. They have the normal books as well but often have some serious stuff. Today I was totally tempted by a 3 volume set The Oxford Encyclopedia of Ancient Egypt, Eventually I succumbed and they very kindly agreed I could pay by installments as the total price was 1000LE. Yes a bit pricey but so worth it. For example the entry on the temple at Tod is very comprehensive with 5 entries in the bibliography. Fortunately my husband was really forgiving of my extravagance although he thinks I am mad.
