Western Valley of Kings - Amenhotep III tomb

I was up in the Western Valley looking at the tomb of Ay today. There have a been a few improvements, the lightning is now automatic and no generator is required. this is one of my favourite kings tombs as it is so quiet there. We were the only visitors.

The guardian was telling us that the Japanese are still working on the restoration of Amenhotep III and he couldn’t see it opening for years. You can get special permission of course from Dr Hawass but it is not easy. So this recent website update from Osiris net is very welcome. It shows the tomb in all its glory, really worth having a look. Osirisnet Amenhotep III
